Service Description

This course blends movement, hands-on activities, and rich read-aloud experiences to strengthen reading, writing, and comprehension skills in an engaging and developmentally appropriate approach. Every lesson invites them to move, act out ideas, build, and interact deeply with the stories and words. Each session begins with purposeful read-alouds that are a model for fluent reading, vocabulary growth, and comprehension strategies. Students then extend their learning through project-based activities. Students will engage in various activities such as: creating story maps, character analysis, making puppets, mini-books, collaborative storyboards and so much more. Movement activities such as word hunts, sound-and-motion games, and dramatized story retellings will help to reinforce phonics and comprehension in ways that are fun and memorable. As students explore stories and language through multiple modalities, they strengthen key literacy skills including decoding, fluency, vocabulary, sequencing, and early writing. This course not only builds confidence, but fosters a love of reading, and supports each child’s growth as an emerging, engaged learner.
